well it`s over 2 inches. Its not drastic I suppose but it will probably noticably look & feel different. The rear end will probably sit at least a cm higher too (I did calculate this a while back but cant rememeber exactly).
When I put my 15`s(225*50) on the back (after using the 16`s for a long while (245*45`s)I didn`t really notice a difference in acceleration until I went on track which was a track I had previously run on with my 16`s. Then the car felt quite a bit quicker.

it will still feel good and will handle well but ultimately the same sized tyres all round is best. Actually you can fit 225`s on a 9inch wide wheel but you have to check with the manufacturer. I know for sure Goodyear Eagle F1` 225*45`s will fit on a 9inch wide rim.

Also 245`s IMO provide to much grip for a 200bhp M3.

The stock tires 225/45ZR 16 are 73.0" rolling circumference. 245/45ZR 16 are 75.2"
Is this too drastic an increase?
Jim
