another idea is a suction mount, simple and effective. I haven`t used one myself but have now seen quite a few cars using them in the uk. Simple put the suction mount on a clean internal surface, use the pump to attach it and then mount the camera on it.

I'd like to put in one of those simple bolt in bars that mount between the shoulder belt mounts in the car, behind the front seats. I've seen one in an E30 M3 before, and it worked really well for attaching a video camera to. Any ideas?
