how do I lean out a rich mixture to pass emissions?

Check your O2 sensor-how old is it? If bad will make computer go to more rich condition.

I replaced the sensor on the thermostat, the sensors on the water jacket(near the head), the thermostat itself, the O2 sensor, plugs, wires,cap, rotor......emissions test comes back rich.......I clicked the AFM three clicks counterclockwise and the car runs better, but I'm not even sure this is the proper direction...any further ideas...thanks!
