BMW alarm with magnetic key not working to 100% (archive)

I have a original mount BMW Original alarm with the magnetic key. The alarm is activated by putting this additional key in the second locker beside the standard locker. A little red light turns on the locker and at the back of the car.
The alarm works only partly, the alarm can be activated withourt problem and if I try to start the engine the "immobiliser" is activated. So long so good...but
the problem is that there is no alarm signal from the horn, what can be wrong?
The horn works because it sounds when I push on the "button" on the steering wheel. I believe it is the same horn.
