Ian, as you probably already know, the oil seperators/breathers are not really complicated devices. Here is a little nudge to help you get over the hump and modify one yourself (see pic and compare to link, gotta love hondas ;).

I agree that the inlet should be similar or larger in size to keep from causing a pressure build up.
