Thanks for the reply. The tensioner change is a good idea under any circumstance. Under closer inspection, I think the noise may be coming from the left side under the intake. It is a very metallic sound. It is in addition to the solid lifter noise. I wonder if the rubber cushion has left the brace that supports the plenum. It is an unusual noise that only occurs under certain circumstances, mostly immediately upon any increase in throttle, then it goes away. no noise over 3000 rpm or at idle. 2200 rpm is the onset.
