The pattern is determined inside the transmission. The issues you will have to deal with are the length of throw and the length of the shift rod. If you get the leverage right, it will work. Just find an insert for the illuminated knob.

I want to use this illuminated shifter with the dogleg transmission i recently bought, but i want the proper gear shift pattern on it. Does anyboby know if i can just cahnge the plastic shift pattern map to the dogleg one. I know that there is a EVO III illuminated shifter with the dogleg pattern, but i'm not too sure how the suede will hold up.
