That’s a gorgeous car and I believe that we met at a Denver area BMW CCA auto cross event. For the care of my E28 M5 I wanted to use utmost caution with the removal of the cosmoline from the engine as the car has only thirty six thousand miles and did not want to compromise or destroy any other surfaces with a powerful solvent. Zymöl Strik is a non-caustic, acid-free, chlorine-free citric oil-based cleaner designed to remove Cosmoline, Paraffin, oil and grease from all surfaces safely. Zymöl recommends that the product is diluted with equal parts of water however in my own experience I achieved the best results with a full strength application and allowed the product to soak engine surfaces for short periods of time.

Cheers,

And while I am on the E30 M3 board I’m going to challenge all E30 M3 owners to catch up to the fifty E28 M5s registered on www.bmwmregistry.com Are you registered?
