...36mm socket and either a breaker bar or an air wrench because the torque spec is 318 ft-lbs. If you go the breaker bar route, you`ll also need to lock the flywheel. There is a special BMW flywheel lock, but you can also use a large screwdriver. Most air wrenches will not fit on the nut without removing the radiator. I used a 600 ft-lb torque wrench and it took about 490 ft-lbs to remove the nut! And that was after spraying it with penetrating oil for a full day. By removing the front wheels and the splash shield, you can extend the breaker bar out through the wheel well. That way, you can get maximum leverage by standing on the bar.
