My early trials with Optimax seem to show that fuel economy is improved. It is 98.3 RON which beats normal super unleaded at 97 RON. It is also cheaper than the super unleaded. Evo mag tested it formally and found that it did indeed clean the valves, and increased acceleration and economy significantly. I would use it if I was you.

Ok, so I picked up my new Evo II today...... and I have a quick question about fuel. Obviously, the car prefers 98 octane to 95, but should I run super unleaded, Shell Optimax or LRP? (these are my options in the UK). My car is a 1988 non kat Evo II....

Thanks guys!
