Pete, these are the reasons I reckon that's pointless:

We all know how expensive fuel is here in the UK. LPG will work out at around half the price per litre. On a cost basis that effectively doubles your mpg. However, if you actually analyse the cost of 'fuel consumption' against total running costs it's quite intersting.

Here's an example. If you take two cars one that does 25 mpg and one that does 15 mpg (ie 10 mpg difference), you have to do 30,000 miles to see a mere £1000 saving in fuel. If we then say the cars do an 'average' annual mileage of 12,000 miles (that's probably higher than most M3's here in the UK?) it'll take 2.5 years to save £1000. I reckon 'other' expenditure over 2.5 years on a car doing this kind of mileage is likely to far outweigh fuel consumption considerartions...and that's before you've dialled in the cost of the conversion (probably enough to mean that it's gonna be 2.5 years before you see any dividend at all)...inconvenience of the installation...loss of boot space...etc etc.

I'd forget it if I were you.

Just my thoughts.

Regards

Derin
