It appears that the reverse light switch wiring was the source of the short as it runs through the shifter area from underneath the carpet. There was a male and a female end, which were connected with some sheared off wire, which apparently runs to the reverse light switch located on the upper, drivers side of the transmission. My question is whether or not the wiring is connected to or part of the back-up light switch? Do I need a new switch or just the wire which connects to the switch to the female end which comes out of the carpet? Thanks in advance. JOE
I was thinking of writing about fuse #10 (7.5A) on my car blowing frequently. I decided to look in the archives. I read the description below, and I am wondering if a solution was ever found, because, as it turns out, I have the same problem. Please let me know if there is a known solution. Thanks in advance. JOE
By the way, I have e-mailed the author individually and will post his answer if he found one.

For some reason every now and then, more often now though, my number ten fuse blows creating all my gauges except the speedometer to stop working and who knows what else too. Anyway it was brought to my attention that there might be some wires hitting the clutch pedal...not the case, and even if there were, they're tied up and out of the way as of last night, yet still the fuse blows. I have noticed that it only seems to be blowing when I am at highway speeds or maybe even shifting into 5th gear, but the first time it happened it may have been when I shifted into 4th. If anyone knows the answer to this mystery I would love it. I really can't pay someone to fix this problem right now. Thanks
