I have not done it myself but I am aware of a couple important pieces of advice:

1. Disconnect the battery and let it sit for a while. I'd leave it for an hour just to be safe.

2. Don't reconnect the battery while the airbag is out. This will cause the SRS light to come on and you'll need to take it in or find out the super-secret (not really) procedure for shorting some connectors under the dash to reset it.

Aside from that, I think it's pretty straightforward. Just be careful about static electricity and where you aim that thing while it's off...and I wouldn't drop it either...hmm...call me paranoid.
