: US cars usually weight a little more than EU spec. cars. Does anybody knows why ?
for example :

1994 840Ci - EU : 1780kg
US : 1870kg
1994 850Ci - EU : 1790kg
US : 1870kg
1994 850CSI- EU : 1865kg
US : 1890kg

Also most of the time the US spec. cars has a higher numerical gear ratio.
1994 850Ci - EU : 3.15
US : 3.64

Does this mean that becuse of the extra weight but smaller ratio (higher number) the car still does the same 0-60 time or ... ? The weight difference is not that much so I dont't think that would do anything with acceleration in real life. Anybody has any idea ?
