The production of the E31 was halted on June 1999 for Europe and Asia but for USA in 1997 due to low sales.
So if you really find a "new" 1997 850Ci then you are a lucky guy. I'd pay something between the new price and '97 Blue book price. I actually saw the last 850Ci at the Pompano Beach dealership having sold at 79.000USD !!! The car was priced at over 100,000USD and they sold it for 79k !!! I wish I could have bought that one, but didn;t have the money... That was a black/black 850Ci.
That was in April,1998.
So if you have the dough go and get it !
