You know, (S)port mode isn't a forced downshift to third gear...

It recalibrates the throttle percentage, kickdown point, shift points, does in fact run in fourth gear. Like (M)anual mode, it also raises the hydraulic pressure of the torque converter for more affirmative (but less confortable) shifts.
