It seems that my car must somehow be "magically" more durable than everyone else's... according to the masses, my E31 should have exploded.

If anything, this board should provide a testimony to how candid I am really willing to be. Perhaps a bull in a China shop, but I have offered all but plane tickets for those doubters to come take a look at the car. I have shown to to some, and there has been no disagreement, so far.

I suppose I shouldn't be suprised that you would find it offensive that a car be driven to it's potential... I know that I like to know that a car CAN reach it's potential when I am buying one.

However, from the minority of off-forum responses which concurred with my philosophy on driving a car, it would seem that the maintenance issues have been somewhat exagerated by a loud few with possible lemons. You would be surpirsed how many E31'ers responded over the holidays via e-mail telling me that they still prove that BMW has made an excellent attempt at "the ultimate driving machine" even in the E31 chassis.

You're in CA, right?

Justin
