Hey Justin,

Looks like you got a little frisky (or bored) before the holidays and came back chilled out.

Hey man, I know you were just trying to strike up a little debate among a group of non-rice boy E31 owners.

I drive my E31 pretty damn hard. "Pussy-foot" (I like that term by the way LOL!) is not my driving style. Honestly, I really don't think anyone here drives their BMWs like Grandpa Pettibone... that would defy the nature of a BMW owner. But I also think that those who can afford a nice shiny 8 Series BMW have enough responsibility to take care it as well.

Sure, some of us are doing some bolt on mods and a few other non-radical changes, but I for one like to get a return on my modification investment. Since my E31 is used for long distance driving to see clients around the Southeast (I live in both Atlanta, GA and Hunt. Beach, CA to answer your question), the E31 stock is pretty well suited for that. Now, if I was tossing my E31 around as you apparently do, I would simply buy a different BMW; I don't think the big GT was specifically designed to be thrashed about like a 3 Series or 911.

Anyway, I understand you have your E31 up for sale? I have not seen your car but I'm sure it's very nice. It was a low-blow to wish you "good luck" in selling it for so high a price. I appologize for that remark.

It just striked me as odd that with all the "burning at the stake" you were posting how us damned non-aggressive E31 drivers were among the likes of Caddy owners, that you are trying to sell your E31.

It's like you bought the car, came to this forum (and the email list) and when whoa.... shit! These guys are stuffy... I want out! How dare they talk about upkeep on the E31! YAWN!!!! BORING!!! I wanna talk about lap times and 0-60 times and G-Force and Turbos and stuff!! (I'm talking out of my ass here.. I really don't know squat about track stuff.. never been into NHRA or NASCAR or whatever).

Talk all you want about modifications.. I actually really enjoy that... it makes me think what some money and motivation can do to make an exceptional BMW even better!

So, in conclusion, I'm sorry about the defensive stance I among others took toward your "rant" just before the holidays. Maybe you're smart in looking to sell your E31 and moving along.... the guys at the dyno here in Georgia thought us E31 BMW owners were pretty stuck up too.....

Sean
