M3 Mirrors same as 850CSi's? (archive)

I'm sorting through a possible European/CSi body upgrade for my '91 850. e36 M3 mirrors look very similar to the 850 CSi's and appear to share a common size and style mounting plate. They are also much less expensive and readily available used. Does anyone know if they are the same or adaptable to the 850?
