As someone here (somewhat rudely) posted:

You are half correct and he is half correct:

In 1997 was the last year BMW USA imported the 840Ci and 850Ci domestically.

Production continued until 1999 when the BMW E31 platform ceased production in the early Spring. These cars were sold in other countries outside the United States and can be purchased through import dealers.


So, save the $100 and go shoot some pool with your buddy and grab lunch.
