Don't know about 3rd party replacement clutches, but the clutch in the 850 is probably pretty hefty as is. Mine currently has 124,000 miles and going strong. Also, if the clutch is equivalent to the transmission (Getrag 6) in "beefiness" then a 3rd party beefed-up clutch would be overkill. Just an indication of the strength of the drivetrain on the 8 series 6 speeds check out:

The Lister Storm (almost 600 HP) uses the same 6 speed Getrag as on our cars. Impressive to say the least. So, if the clutch is comparible, I would say go with genuine BMW.
