I have had this happen twice. Both times when one of the fuel pumps went south. The pumpsmare cooled by gasoline. hence try not to let your tank go below one half.

: I know that should the engine experience problems it can shut down one "bank" of cylinders and run on the other 6. My questions: What are some things that could prompt this? Do you feel it shut off while *cruising* along? Lastly, and this isn't really a question 'cause I'm not _that_ stupid....acceleration, especially highway passing would suck running on one bank, yeah?
