You were right (as usual) the stock E31 clutch is the best clutch for using as a replacement.

Justin,

I called BPG and spoke with Matt. Nice guy and very helpful. He said the stock clutch is THE beefiest and any aftermarket clutch would be a waste of $$ and tend to make noises if not installed properly.

So, $535 for the clutch kit and 9 hours labor should put me at $1200 plus tax at the dealer and a little less somewhere else.

It's nice to know that BMW has some good parts in the E31 that out-perform 3rd party stuff.
