I'd check all the rotating thingies on the engine first, such as the power steering pump, alternator, water pump, and belt tenioner pulleys. See if there's any play in any of the bearings on these accessories.

A while back BMW posted a service bulletin on an annoying vibration in the 7 series. Turned out to be a lousy pipe mounting bracket for the power steering cooling radiator transmitting a resonance into the body.

My point? It could be anything.

I have an annoying vibration arising from a new fan coupling. Buzzes like crazy at around 1300 rpm. I'll give it time to age a bit, and if it continues, pop BMWNA for a replacement.

Good luck
