: Since the posts are short and far between, I'll take this time to say I love snow... I started out to work with (with the Eclipse, FWD) early enough that the plows wouldn't be out and there wouldn't be anyone on the road.

: I have never been part of an official off-road rally, but I like to think that someday I will. After helping my neighbors kid brush off their car adn a quick chat about school cancellations, I headed out. I have a downhill S curve (not the Corkscrew I posted about earlier, this one is longer) just outside my neighborhood. Anyway... 2 40~50ft drifted turns and giant grin later, I am finally at work.

: How was everyone else's commute?

: I've got my 8 locked down under cover. I promise you guys that I will excecise discipline in keeping the 8 where it is until the snow passes, but it is tempting. I wish my motorcycle was functional... ;-)

: That should fill my quota for posting "dumb (but fun) things I do, and am not too abashed to share them" for this week.

Yeah, I've not driven my 850 in about a month or so. Took is out last week to wash it and drive around to the video store. That's about it. It's funny how I drive my SAV now all the time. Damn thing is just so pratical! Throw my dog in the back and go. Sometimes I just feel like riding high and not shifting... lazy I guess. If I'm in a hurry it's just quicker to jump in and take off.

I'm thinking about doing a little racing soon. I'm selling my condo in So. CA and going to now live in Atlanta, GA and Melbourne Beach, FL so the X5 is going south, (to a sweet condo on the beach there for 200K less than the one in So CA AND it's 2X bigger... CA is just screwed up cost wise!!)the 328i is coming east and the 850i is staying in Atlanta. I (finally... thank GOD!) hired someone for the left coast and that damn 3 1/2 flight every other week is coming to an end!

What is required to race my 328i SCCA or SOLO? I live about 15 minutes from Lanier Raceway and about 40 minutes from Road Atlanta. Do I have to get a special license?

I figured since you are the resident racing expert I would ask you.

Also, anyone here ever have a car shipped?? How much do they nail you to do that? I really don't want to put 3000 miles on the E36.. not to mention drive 3 days!

TIA

Sean
