Hmmm, isn't it interesting that these did not occur (assuming from your previous post) before the Dinan upgrade? Did these components just mysteriously and coincidentaly become marginal on their own? One has to ask. It's like when I took my 8 in for a new thermostat and as I was pulling it out of the dealership I noticed I was spewing antifreeze all over the pavement from the heater coil valve. Coincidence? I took it up with the service manager. He paid for the part, I paid for the labor. Cause and effect in my book. I told him that it was not leaking at the time I brought it in, and it was at the time of delivery to me. Their fault in my opinion (and probably due to high pressure of thermostat stuck closed and engine overheating! I was NOT a happy camper about the prospect that they probably overheated my engine to the point of popping the heater coil valve/selenoid but that was 70,000 miles ago).

It still sounds like a bad sensor or data feedback to the ECU to me. Has it ever done it while moving down the road? I had a bad ECU unit in my Nissan Z car and it would just die while moving down the road. The RPM indicator would hit 0 instantly. No loss of RPM over a period of 1 second or more, just INSTANTANEOUS 0 rpm's.

: Well, sadly, Dinan and BMW in Norwood agree that the sporadic stalling in my 850 (6spd) is due to the DK motors AND EML control unit! About 5 times now since I had my Dinan chip and manifolds installed, the car has stalled immediatly after starting, most of those occurances were warm starts. I looked over the error codes the dealership printed out and found references to each cylinder bank having gone dead once (I thought this was related to the intake manifold leaks) and a couple errors regarding faulty communications between the control unit and some parts with random acronyms I didn't recognize. Though none of these are good signs, I'm not sure they explain the stalling I've been having. Further, they told me that the EML control unit needed replacing because it is related to the DK motors going bad.
: Does this make sense to all you techies? I would be grateful if anybody could explain this to me since I don't know what interdependancy there is between the DK's and the EML control unit.

: thanks,
