The S70 and M70 heads are the exactly same part number. It's the camshaft that's different. IIRC, the timing is slightly more aggressive, while the lift remains the same.

I checked, and to my suprise, the valve diameters were the same. I always thought the S70 had larger exhaust valves.

If you're gonna add $20K to an 850i, just purchase a CSi for 50-55K out here in Southern California? They're dropping as fast as the standard V-12s these days. Pity, huh? Such a fantastic car.
