: Well, in response to your question, the 8 series was sold in the U.S. from 1991 to 1997, thus there are many used 8's on the market here now for a decent price (but as in all used purchases, caveat emptor). With an extended warranty the 8 is getting to be a great value considering the used prices compared to the price when each was new. The cost of upkeep is comensurate with the retail value and sophistication of the car. The 8 series was sold until '99 in the rest of the world, but the costs of bringing a R.O.W. spec model would be very high and a lot of hassle.
: One thing that seems to run consistent on this board is that everyone acknowledges the high cost of upkeep, but as in every bimmer owner I have met, we love our cars!
