: I had one for 18months, now it is replaced by a '97 840Ci. Problems :
- Intake gasket (symptoms : rough idle specially
when the engine is cold)
- Broken cruise control cable ( idle goes up to
2,500rpm and won't change no
matter what you do)under 30USD
and easy to replace)
- Lower control arm (very expensive becuse made
out of aluminum)
- front shocks (I had 95k miles and original
shocks, I replaced them with
the Bilstein - not so cheap )
The rear was oke, but I replaced
them as well the bushings too.
- Electric Seat cables - So far had to replace all of them. Some of them worked but with a loud noise but most of them was stuck.
- Bulbs and a lots of them. I must have replaced about 10-12 bulbs over that time and the '97 is no different at all. I used to have japanese cars and didn't know about bulbs at all.

welll, that is all I can remember right now, but not too bad at all. Good luck !
