Gas vacuum... And Paul M. Brown (archive)

When I run the gas tank down below a half a tank (in city driving that seems to be about 50 miles---just joking) does everyone else experience a strong vacuum buildup in the gas tank? Surely that can't be good for the fuel pumps? If this is not normal would this indicate a clogged return line or clogged charcoal cannister (or even perhaps both). I would appreciate any and all comments.

Also, P.M.B., could you please e-mail the seat cable fix to me? Thanks in advance....
