I had (sniff) a '92 850i six speed and for two years I looked for an E31 that was silver w/ Lt. Gray leather AND six speed. I would agree with PMB on all but one point. The 850i stock has gobs of untapped power that ECU chip modification brings out.

I loved the manual. You can punch the big beast much harder when you do the paddling and the engine power just keeps on coming. There is NOTHING like entering the highway on-ramp at 100MPH in 3rd gear, shifting to fourth and settling back to about 80MPH. The pure thrust of the car is pure heaven. I am again looking for a good used E31 and will be purchasing either a CSi or 850i six speed. I drove both. My $.02 is the manual. A pitty they stopped producing it after '93 (exempt from that is the CSi)
