Uh-oh, thanks to Dave, I'll pose another thought and post provoking question:

Those of you with autoboxes, how do you drive them? In Manual, or Auto? (Sport 3rd or Econo- Drive?).....

i>: I have only just taken delivery of my '96 850ci, so my experience is limited, but I have $.02 on this issue. My preference as I get older (i'm 45) is to go with the tiptronic-like automatics. I find they give me the driving excitment of a stick for the most part without the feet dancing required of a full manual. On the other hand some people just prefer the 'I am in control of this car' feeling that sticks inherently provide. But when I need to make a phone call or drink my coffee in the car, I need one hand free the tiptronic works out great here. My wife has an Audi A4 Avant with the 2.8 in it and it has a manual. Its fun for a while but utimately tiresome to me, especially in traffic. I may not get the ultimate from my v12 but hey I like it just fine.
