The CSi has had a laying of hands by BMW Motorsport: the engine (S70 version vs. MXX versions in other v12 8’s), rear end, suspension, tires, wheels, transmission, wood trim, tachometer, engine rev limiter settings (variable depending on which gear you are in) and throttle control are all different than any other available 8-series (There may be more differences but these are the ones off the top of my head). Some people can add some features after market, but I doubt you can add it all (read: Try to retrofit variable throttle linkage in a car not designed for it…WAY too much money if it is possible at all).

However the car was never badged as an ///M car (I suspect because the engine is still a SOHC design), even though the steering wheel, shift knob and door runners are all “///M’d”.
