Question-850 Traction Control acting funny (archive)

I have a 93 850ci that is doing something very strange. As you know, the traction control is always on by default unless you switch it off and then the light in the center of the dash comes on to signify that it is off. Well, whenever I start my car, I hear a strange noise almost like a squeaking that sounds like it is coming from behind the dash and seems to vary with the engine RPM's. After a minute or so my traction control light comes on and the noise stops. The car runs fine, but this is just too weird. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
