: All,
: I am toying with the idea of designing, building and distributing a “black box” that will modify the operation of the lights on the E31. I am in the idea generation/research phase of the project and am soliciting input from those who may be interested in the product.
: I have access to the right people, fabrication equipment, tools and money. So I feel that if I decide to take this on, a quality product can be built professionally and safely (especially if I am going to put it in my car too!!).
: If you are interested, please let me know. You can do this by letting me know via e-mail, and by downloading the referenced spreadsheet and looking it over. Please make modifications to the spreadsheet (it will be obvious where) and send it back to me. Your input in this phase is critical, as I have learned that my tastes tend to be unique.
: If you think I am crazy for attempting something like this it’s ok to let me know that to.
: Thanks,

Len,
Here in Canada we (by law) have the day time running lights on with the ignition. I believe they are dual element - low when the headlights are on - very bright when headlights are not on.
On my 93 850Ci the fog lamps can be switched on while the headlights are on. They go off when high beam is selected.
I don't see anything on the spreadsheet re the parking light switch operating the rear (tail) lights. Also, when parking lights are selected on my car the dash lights come on. Dash lights are not on with the daytime running lights.
I like your idea of the rear foglight but I think I'll leave the rest of mine stock. If you can incorporate the bright daytime running lights as 'always on' (as per the Canadian models)I believe that it would be a real plus for the US models.
