You can sometimes find an intake leak by squirting ether starting spray judiciously around the intake manifold area. Go slowly to let the last bit of ether evaporate before spraying again. If the car suddenly increases idle RPM, then you'll have found a leak. Be careful, and only do this in a well ventilated area.
