FYI,
I saw a silver '97 840ci auto/tiptronic at Peter Pan BMW (San Mateo, CA) this morning. Car looked to be in decent shape, but I didn't get a chance to look too closely. Mileage around 26K, asking mid-60's (Ouch!).
