Engines--Call your local BMW dealer for new engine prices. Used engines come up every once in a while, but mostly the 5.0L, not the 5.4 or 5.6. The used 5.0s tend to go for about $3k. Bavarian Auto Exchange (www.bavengine.com) sells rebuilt V12s for $6k. If you have a core, you may be able to have them overbore it to 5.4 or 5.6 and add oversized pistons for an extra charge. The trick with the v12 is the special nickasil treatment it requires to harden the cylinder walls against wear--an expensive chemical process.

Turbos--Dinan sells a twin turbo kit for about $60k installed(See Dinanbmw.com).

: How much is a 5.4 or a 5.6 engine? I was looking through Autotrader and found a 520HP twin turbo 850csi. Has anyone heard of a turbo kit for the 850? how much is it? who sells it.
