I was suspcious of the whole gasket kit when I couldn't get a straight response on exactly what it was. The final word from Dinan was that the gasket material was not actually the same as OEM but of a significantly more durable and flexible material that would increase the life expectancy of the gaskets by about 30K miles. Is their gasket material indeed the same as stock gaskets?

: To R&R the intake manifold gaskets, my independent charged $532 parts and $455 labor. I tried the Dinan intake gasket kit (whoa, don't get me started - around $300 for standard die cut gasket material and a bottle of gasket cement: Rip Off!), and it did not help. Having tried this repair myself, I can tell you that it's much easier having your mechanic do it.
