In my firm my two partners have 1997 SL500's and I have a 1991 850i. Now recognizing the difference in price the cars can not be compared. The SL is faster, smoother and quieter, and as an added bonus you get the luxury of a convertible with a hardtop.

: In the UK I would probably get a 1993 SL500 for the same price as a 1995 840 although I am not too worried about age of vehicle.
