Absolutely not! The stock gaskets are about 1 cm thick, comprised of a metal core with a thick rubber coating. The rubber is molded with sealing ridges (kinda like o-rings) on both sides to seal against the manifold and head. The Dinan gaskets are plain gasket paper type material that you can buy in any auto parts store. That's why I consider them a rip-off for the price. I know what a die for die-cutting costs, and I know what the gasket material costs and it just doesn't justify the exorbitant price they charge (even with the $5 bottle of cement they through in).

: I was suspcious of the whole gasket kit when I couldn't get a straight response on exactly what it was. The final word from Dinan was that the gasket material was not actually the same as OEM but of a significantly more durable and flexible material that would increase the life expectancy of the gaskets by about 30K miles. Is their gasket material indeed the same as stock gaskets?

: : To R&R the intake manifold gaskets, my independent charged $532 parts and $455 labor. I tried the Dinan intake gasket kit (whoa, don't get me started - around $300 for standard die cut gasket material and a bottle of gasket cement: Rip Off!), and it did not help. Having tried this repair myself, I can tell you that it's much easier having your mechanic do it.
