Brian,
As Steve indicated the 850CSi was only produced in '94 and '95 and you probably aren't going to find one in drivable condition for less than 45-50K. Also, your boss would have had to have some chip mods done to the car to do 168MPH. First electronic limiter kicks in at 155MPH and then there is a throttle limiter that kicks in at around 170MPH. So, I guess the 168 is possible if the car was rechipped. Be careful of misbadged cars --like 91 92 93 96 97 850CSi's, 8 cylinder 850's, M badges, etc. as this is common.

: I feel like an evesdropper after reading everyone's questions and responses but do I feel enlightened. I don't have an 850i yet, but the purchase is only months away. Mind if I join the group now?
: My boss bought a new 850Csi two years ago and thats when I fell in love with the car. He drove (he has since passed away) a 911 whale tail turbo as well as his own Formula I race car and swore that the 850Csi was the fastest thing he'd ever driven. He liked to talk about the Ferrari Testarossa that decided to take him on on the freeway late one night. He responded to the challenge and was pulling away until he realized that driving at 168 MPH is considered felony driving by the California Highway Patrol. At that point he backed off and still the Ferrari never pulled along side him. Went home with its tail betwen its legs (tires) I guess.
: Anybody know anything about that dealership in Atlanta that is selling the 91 Csi for $13000 (front end is damaged)? Are they reputable? Is repairing the body parts of an 850 cost-prohibitive?
