can 92 850 suspension parts transfere to 91? (archive)

I would like to up grade the 91 850 ci shock & struts
but the first year car has suspension unique to it and
no aftermarket parts available. But they do make parts
for 92 and up. the 91 are not cartridge type. But 92 and later appear to be cartridge type. So can I buy some additional parts and make it work? Thanks
