Before cutting that boot, I would suggest a replacement one - keep your original part original.

You can get a good quality replacement boot like your original but with no knob from AGLA (advertises in the Roundel) or a black suede boot from UUC Motorwerks.

: I'd like to change the shift knob on the 850 I'm bying with a momo or BMW. But I noticed the leather on the boot extends into the knob.

: Do you have to cut the leather? Is the knob easy to remove?
