A follow-up: The ghost is dead (hiding is more likely). Just took a 18 mile test ride and no sign of the light or computer warning. Not even after I repeatedly pushed the "Check" button on the computer. Will keep you all posted. In the mean time, still interested in hearing thoughts or stories.
Thanks and regards,
Gregg

: Dear Exalted E31 Devotees - -
: I need your help and sage advice.
: On two of four recent short trips around town, the oil light came on in the instrument panel and the "low oil pressure" warning came across the computer. Stopped at nearest gas station and checked the oil level - it reads full. Watched the temperature gauge - stayed smack in the middle (12 O'clock) as it always does. Performance is as strong as ever. No other noticable drivability issues.
: What gives? Could it really be an oil pressure thing? Is it just a sensor? Note: On the last short trip I took (approximately 2 miles) no lights and no warnings.
: Anyone have any thoughts or common experiences?
: Thanks in advance,
: Gregg
