The thermal wrap does reduce the engine compartment temp. The jet-hot coating works by reducing the amount of heat being absorbed by metal. This a) reduces engine compartment temps, b) increases exhaust temp (better use of the cats…up to a point), and c) increases the life expectancy of your manifolds considerably.
