I was also surprised at how quickly the 850 chews up tires. I had some Dunlop SP4000's that were pretty good, and then I got another unidirectional Dunlop that was supposed to be better than the 4000, but they only lasted about 11K mi. I got some Dunlop 8000's in July, and cooled-down my driving, and they are wearing exceptionally for a Z tire. I have extrapolated that these tires will probably go to about 15K or 18K. The dealer asked why I use Dunlops because they (the dealer) thinks that they are substandard. The way that I look at it is, if they are only going to last 15K, I'd rather pay half of what it costs for a P-Zero that's only going to last 15K.
