Dennis -
Well, it took about 4 hours total this weekend to remove the cosmoline from most of the engine metal. Yeah, I killed two toothbrushes, but since they were old ones in my toolkit, they cost $0. The stripper cost $6, so all in all, it was a cheap solution (sorry, bad pun there!). The KS-5 works just fine, and I found that if you work on a small area, then hose it off with lots of water within a few minutes, there is very little "collateral" damage to the plastic and rubber parts (some minor cosmetic). I must say the results are fantastic, my engine looks 1000% better. Although I agree with you regarding quality materials, my Engineering philosphy has always been KISS (keep it simple, stupid!), so IMHO, this was plenty simple.

BTW, anyone have a part number for the Motorola phone hand set?

Regards and keep 'em flying,
Stan C.
