Had the same problem on my '92 when I got it. I think the dealership just gave me a fob (any fob) and it turned out to be the wrong one. Then after a lot of misinformation they got the right one. For my '92 it was the single button radio control part #: 88 88 1600 205. I bought new control chips (which may be your problem). One goes in the control unit and the other in the fob (and I bought one extra at the same time just in case).

: Oops, my hand hit the Enter key too fast. What I mean to say was does anybody have the OEM radio remote with the green connector installed in their car? The previous owner left me the key fob transmitter, but it doesn't work and I've been digging around all the nooks and crannies for weeks now looking for the receiver.
