I, too, agree. Looking back through the message board and mailing list, the common problems don't appear to be very year specific. The major factors seem to be mileage (although there are a few, very high mileage, high reliability cars on the board) and condition (but you'd expect that on any car). It would be interesting to run the statistics, there's probably enough data (year, model, problem) on the board/mailing list to really see what the relationships are. The problems are not wide ranging either, there are a few well known issues.
